Circuit Riders Cowboy Church started as a Bible Study and Mission with just a few folks in the fall of 2006. Moving to the Big Spring Livestock Auction building in 2007. Gary Jones was wonderful to work with during our time there! The heat/drought and outgrowing the facility moved us to the former Central Baptist Church Building in the Elbow Community in 2013. We had purchased property on West I-20 between Big Spring and Stanton, but were not ready to build. This can be a slow process because we pay as we go. Our pastor is bi-vocational and everyone else volunteers their time. We have been blessed with many AMAZING VOLUNTEERS through the life of our church!! We again outgrew the building at Elbow and began meeting in our new building (North Camp) at 6701 1-20 West, Big Spring, TX 79720 a few years ago. We continue to use the Elbow - South Camp - site for Youth, Bible Studies, and other meeting groups and events as well as having a practice arena there. Currently, all of our functions except Playdays and Practice Ropings are at the North Camp on l-20 due to damage at Elbow from the recent flash floods. The Playdays and Practice Ropings are held in cooperation with the Howard County Youth Horseman Club Arena at Hwy 33 and Longshore Road, Big Spring, TX. We are very much a 'work in process'! Circuit Riders Cowboy Church Pastor, Courtney Ballard, believed we had a need for this type of church in our community. In 2006 Pastor Derrick Looney from Forsan Baptist encouraged Pastor Courtney and a few volunteers to attend the Texas Fellowship of Cowboy Churches training (Now the American Fellowship of Cowboy Churches). Forsan Baptist and Central Baptist supported CRCC as a mission outreach from their churches for many years. We are non-denominational. The goal of cowboy church is to provide ministry and work in cooperation with Cowboys/ Cowgirls and their families, Ranching, Western lifestyle, and those that are involved in the Western Heritage Culture or who enjoy being a part of these cultures, and those not comfortable in a formal church setting. You do not have to be a cowboy or cowgirl to attend Circuit Riders Cowboy Church. There is no dress requirement. Come as you are!
